Dr Saliba Sassine
Founder and Managing Director
Dr Sassine is a highly experienced executive across corporate finance, merchant capital as well as serving as Chairman or Managing Director of a number of public and private companies across biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, natural products and resources. Dr Sassine has served as Senior Ministerial Advisor at State Government level and was also advisor at National level. He chaired a number of government working parties and committees, including representing Western Australian on the National Prices and Incomes Advisory Committee. He has served on the Senate and Council of two universities in Western Australia and served as Chairman of the Perth Theatre Trust which controlled the major performance venues in the State with around $1 billion in assets. Saliba has a First Class Honours Degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Doctor of Philosophy from the same university.

Samantha is a professional company director with senior executive experience as well as a number of Chairman roles in ASX listed and unlisted companies. She has deep experience and expertise across a number of industries including oil & gas and energy, mineral resources, engineering, banking and finance and agriculture. Presently, she heads Australian Grain Champions and is a Director of Saracen Mines. Samantha is a former General Manager North West Shelf, Woodside Limited. Ms Tough is a qualified lawyer and worked as a Barrister for a time. She is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Dr Valeriy Tsupko
Director – Business Development Former Soviet Union
Dr Tsupko is a high experienced company director and executive with a background in resources, mining and international trade. Dr Tsupko is a graduate of the Moscow Mining Institute where he was awarded his Ph.D. in complex underground mining and mineral deposits. Dr Tsupko spent 20 years in the Russian coal industry and engineering in senior management and executive positions. He also worked at the executive joint ventures in Europe and Canada for Gerur Gmbx and Alco Canada Inc. In addition, Dr Tsupko is a senior advisor to S&A Capital in international commodity transactions and cross-border trade. Dr Tsupko has deep understanding and contacts in Russia and the FSU and brings a deep knowledge to BlueMount Capital.
Director Business Development – Asia
Based in Bangkok, James is an experienced capital markets and finance executive with career experience spanning over 20 years. James departed Perth, Western Australia after graduating from Edith Cowan University and moved to Japan where he started his career. He has worked for various financial services companies including Maruso Securities and Commerzbank (formerly Dresdner Kleinwort Benson) in Japan, Macquarie Bank and AsiaVest Partners in Hong Kong, Commonwealth Bank and Paterson (formerly Paterson Ord Minnet/J.P. Morgan) in Australia. James held various trading licences when working on exchanges in Japan, Hong Kong and Australia dealing with a wide range of trading instruments including equities, bonds, convertible instruments, warrants and derivatives. James also worked as a licensed fund manager in Hong Kong with special interest in managed investment funds and a focus on taking mainland Chinese companies to IPO listings on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
Elias Michael Farah, B.Eng.
Director S.E. Asia & Middle East
Mr Farah is BlueMount Capital (WA)’s specialist in the energy and mineral sector, bringing a wealth of experience to the investment banking team. He is an accomplished commercial and globally experienced Business Leader with a verifiable 38-year track record of success progressing to Vice President level in game-changing commercial business development and project leadership roles.
Mr Farah has proven abilities in shaping and executing high-yield growth strategies; combining deep industry insights and technical acumen with exceptional commercial skills. Experienced in leading matrix teams across Malaysia, UAE and Australia; balancing risk and reward to deliver ground-breaking contracts and drive revenue/EBIT growth beyond expectations amidst challenging market conditions.
Mr Farah has worked at QP/BP in the Middle East and Chevron in Australia, predominately in project management and development. He also worked for Technip, Bumi Amada and NPCC, managing tendering and commercial activities for mega-projects around the world.
Yuan (Sophia) Gao
Ms. Gao is an experienced investment manager in China previously filling that role at CITIC Medical & Health Group Co. Ltd. where she was mainly engaged in medical and health investments. Prior to that she was Vice President for Marketing and Risk Control at CCB International (China) Limited. She was also a Senior Associate at Chum Investment Corporation, one of China’s most successful privately-owned merchant banks. Ms Gao started her career as an Assistant Manager in the Audit Department in KPMG Beijing. She is a graduate of the School of Management at Renmin University of China and the Central University of Finance and Economics.
Giancarlo (John) Meazzo
Director – West Coast USA
Based in Los Angeles, Giancarlo is a highly experienced finance executive having serviced as CFO and Director of Finance at a number of Fortune 500 Companies in the USA. Giancarlo has worked across a number of sectors, including hospital and medical care and a large hospital chain with more than US$2 billion in revenue. He has also worked in insurance for multi-billion dollar group Great American Insurance Company. Giancarlo has been involved in corporate and finance structuring and financings, including corporate finance work for American Funds Service and the Investment Company of America Group of Mutual Funds. He has A.A. and M.A. degrees in accounting and management.
Benjamin H Cooper
Benjamin is a corporate finance and public company executive with more than 20 years extensive experience in the Australian capital markets.
Having started his career as an equities analyst with Lewis Securities Limited and an investment advisor with Findlay & Co Stockbrokers and Novus Capital Limited, Benjamin went on to set up his own corporate advisory firm, advising and listing small companies on the ASX.
Benjamin has an expert knowledge of publicly listed companies in Australia and has a detailed knowledge of ASX compliance, corporate governance and financial and company management.
Executive Assistant to Managing Director
In addition to the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Katharine is also a senior administrator and company secretary. She is experienced across a number of industries including corporate finance, property, biotechnology and natural products.
Hao’s responsibilities include corporate advisory, business development, commodities brokering and deal generation. He has held past roles in venture capital and private equity. Hao holds a Bachelor of Economics and Graduate Certificate of Commerce from the University of Queensland and is pursuing a Bachelor of Law (Honours) at Queensland University of Technology.
